Blaze

This handsome boy is Blaze. He was rescued in February 2025 from a litter of 10 born under an abandoned house/shed. His mother and siblings were sadly euthanized due to shelter overcrowding, but Blaze was the only one rescued and has been fostered in a loving home ever since. He's a smart and eager-to-learn young dog who craves affection and training. Blaze loves to play ball and chase squirrels, and he responds exceptionally well to positive attention. He would happily snuggle for hours if given the chance! He is moderately energetic and would thrive with an active family that can provide him with plenty of physical and mental stimulation. Blaze is approximately 1 year old and weighs 62 lbs, likely to reach around 75 lbs when fully grown. We believe he would do well with older, sturdy children due to his size and strength, and he gets along well with smaller dogs.

Ongoing Health

Blaze is neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Training & Support

Blaze has had minimal leash training due to his strength and needs further work on leash manners to prevent pulling and to be gentler. He is very eager to learn and responds exceptionally well to affection and training.

Transportation

Blaze is located in Arkansas. Transport is available to the New England area. Adopters must be able to pick up in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays.
