Shyla

Shyla is a shy and sweet girl who is ready for her second chance at a happy life! Since she came to us as a stray, we don't have any information about her past. We estimate she's about 5 years old, and while she's made progress adjusting to the shelter, she still has a ways to go. She's quite under-socialized, and loud noises, strangers, new environments, or fast movements can easily spook her. We're slowly getting to know her, and she's starting to show us affection, even enjoying her time outside with us. She's learning what it means to be a dog, and we believe with the right environment and some patience, she'll blossom.

Ideal Home

Shyla would thrive in a quiet home environment. Her new family should be understanding of her shy nature and patient as she gains confidence. A home with another dog is recommended, as this is likely to help her feel more secure and learn to adjust to home life. If you have another dog, a meet and greet will be required. A fenced-in yard is recommended for her safety, as she is a flight risk. Consistent leash walks will be important in the beginning.

Shyla has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Shyla is not yet house-trained and would benefit greatly from continued obedience training, socialization, and confidence-building activities. Her new family should be prepared to work with her on these areas to help her become a well-adjusted companion.
