Meet Sky!
Sky is a sweet and loyal 4-year-old Staffordshire Terrier/Red Heeler mix who weighs about 60 pounds. She’s a gentle soul who enjoys being by your side and walks beautifully on a leash without pulling. Sky is already leash trained, crate trained, and house trained, making her a breeze to integrate into a new home. She’s also wonderfully calm around other animals, including cats and squirrels, so you can take her on all your adventures without worry. Sky can be a bit shy with new people at first, but with a little time and patience, her affectionate and loving personality truly shines through. She was rescued from the streets of Houston, Texas, along with her siblings after being abandoned as puppies. Now, she's ready to find a stable, patient, and loving forever family to call her own. If you're searching for a calm and faithful companion, Sky might be the perfect match for you!
Ideal Home
Sky would thrive in a home with families who enjoy outdoor activities and have a fenced backyard. We are looking for families with an understanding of the needs of rescued animals, including their potential behaviors and the importance of protection and education. Prior experience with dog behavior and training is a plus, as is a high level of patience.
Ongoing Health
Sky has received a spay/neuter, DHPPI vaccine, rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, has been dewormed, tested negative for heartworm, and comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
While Sky is house-trained, adopters should be aware that our rescue organization is unable to house-train every pet due to the high number of animals in foster care. We ask for understanding in this area.

Applications start by contacting us through Wags. Please complete our online application as thoroughly as possible, as our goal is to find the perfect match for your lifestyle and family dynamic. After your application is reviewed, we will schedule a phone/email interview. A home check (virtual or in-person) will follow, and then a meet-and-greet. A trial adoption period will be arranged with an adoption contract.
Transportation
Sky is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas. She is available for transport to the East Coast and the Pacific Northwest. The transport fee is $400.00, which will be paid by the adopter prior to the pet's departure and is provided by a transport company.
