Luther is a sweet, silly, high-energy 1-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix who weighs about 55 pounds. He has a heart full of love and a personality that will keep you smiling, with bouncy floppy ears and a playful spirit that's ready for both zoomies and snuggles. Luther is curious, playful, smart, silly, and affectionate, always seeking attention and happy to give plenty of kisses. He enjoys being close to his humans and melts for belly scratches. When meeting strangers, he might be a little skittish at first but warms up quickly with gentle reassurance. In the car, he's still gaining confidence getting in and out, but once inside, he enjoys looking out the window and settles nicely if his bed is with him.
Ideal Home
Luther would thrive in many types of homes, whether an apartment or a house, as long as he receives regular exercise and continued guidance. A backyard would be a bonus for zoomies, but daily walks and playtime are just as great. He doesn't mind being the only dog or having canine siblings, but he'll always choose his humans first. Given his young age, if he is the only dog in the home, adopters will need to discuss their socialization plans.

Training & Support
Luther is house-trained and has had no accidents since arriving in foster care. He sleeps in his crate and settles within a few minutes after a brief protest. He is generally good when left alone for up to two hours, typically napping. He is still learning what is and isn't a toy, so he is not yet ready to be left loose in the house unsupervised. While he walks well on leash with a companion dog, he can be somewhat barky when seeing other dogs from his leash, though this can improve with training. He shows no resource guarding over food or toys, even when hand-fed.
