About Lunah
Meet Lunah, a delightful 55-pound girl who embodies the perfect blend of an adventure buddy, a professional napper, and a lovable goofball. At approximately 3 years old, Lunah is seeking a loving forever home after a change in her previous family's housing situation made it impossible for them to keep her. Thankfully, she is healthy, happy, and incredibly eager for her next chapter.
Lunah approaches life with a two-speed system: full-throttle zoomies and championship-level napping. A fenced yard, a few toys for self-entertainment, and she's content, followed by a well-deserved snooze. She's also an excellent car rider, enjoys exploring on walks, and loves puzzle toys that stimulate her mind, especially when rotated to keep things fresh. She's diligently working on expanding her repertoire of commands beyond "sit," "stay," and "down."
While Lunah possesses a great deal of confidence once she's comfortable with you, she can be a bit shy when meeting new people. She prefers to set her own pace and appreciates a safe space to decompress. However, once her trust is earned, be prepared for a sweet girl who isn't shy about requesting pets, cuddles, and your undivided attention. She has a quiet knack for stealing hearts.
Lunah generally does well with dogs of a similar size and enjoys canine companionship, though, like many dogs, she appreciates having her own toys. She has demonstrated sharing abilities, but she's happiest when everyone has their own treasures. Her previous owner reported positive interactions with cats, although this has not been tested in her foster home.
She is both house-trained and crate-trained, rides beautifully in the car, and settles down nicely after the excitement of starting a walk. Due to her occasional tendency to be an escape artist when startled, she would benefit from a secure harness or collar and a fenced yard with a sturdy 4-5 foot fence.
Like any rescue dog, Lunah is still learning. She occasionally forgets that kitchen counters are not buffet tables and is building confidence when left alone in her crate. With consistent training, patience, and abundant love, she is already making wonderful progress.
Lunah isn't seeking perfection; she simply desires a family willing to allow her to blossom at her own pace. In return, you'll gain a loyal companion who will entertain you with her zoomies, warm your heart with her affection, and remind you daily that the best things in life are worth waiting for. If you're looking for a dog with a playful spirit, a gentle heart, and enough personality to keep life interesting, Lunah might just be the missing piece of your family. Come meet her – you might just find she's been waiting for you all along.
