Poppy Lou the Panda Bear Sweetheart

Poppy Lou is an approximately 8-month-old, 35 lb sweetheart with a face that looks like a panda bear, complete with perfectly floppy ears and a gentle expression. We believe she may be a Lab/Pittie mix, but with rescue, breed and age are always a mystery. What's not a mystery is her wonderfully sweet and affectionate personality. She's gentle, loving, and has a soft, innocent way about her that makes everyone fall in love. Poppy is doing wonderfully in her foster home with children ages 3-16 and is also dog-friendly, enjoying respectful play with her canine siblings. She can be a little shy in new situations, but she warms up quickly to reveal her loving nature.

Ideal Home

Poppy would be happiest in a home with a backyard where she can continue exploring, playing, and growing at her own pace, as she is still building confidence and learning about the world.

Ongoing Health

Poppy Lou is up-to-date on all vetting, which includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable, and a heartworm test.

Training & Support

Poppy is crate trained, potty trained, and walks fairly well on leash, though she needs continued practice to build confidence. She is treat-motivated, knows how to sit, and takes treats very gently.

Transporation

Poppy Lou is currently located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system. Transport drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). An $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
