About Bear

Meet Bear!

With his breathtaking chestnut, hazelnut, reddish-brown coat and soulful eyes, Bear is the kind of puppy who turns heads everywhere he goes. At 7 months old and around 40 pounds (expected to be about 55 pounds full grown), he's blossoming into an incredible companion with all the makings of an amazing family dog. Bear didn't have the easiest start to life. He spent his first several months living in a concrete backyard with his siblings and had very little exposure to the outside world. Despite that, he's proving every single day that love, patience, and consistency can work miracles. His foster says Bear is overflowing with potential, and it's easy to see why. He's an incredibly smart, sensitive, and affectionate boy who genuinely wants to learn. He's already crate trained, doing wonderfully with his training, and has mastered sit and fetch. He's even learning his name! Bear is highly food motivated, making him an excellent candidate for positive reinforcement training, and he'll thrive with a family committed to helping him continue building confidence and learning new skills. Bear adores other dogs, is cat-friendly, loves children, and has never met a stranger. His favorite toys are balls and stuffed animals, and one of his cutest quirks is that he will actually sit and watch TV with you. Around the house, Bear is happiest soaking up the simple things in life: short walks, lounging in the shade on a sunny day, and rolling onto his back for belly rubs any chance he gets. Like any puppy, he has little bursts of playful energy, but they don't last long. After a minute or two of zoomies and fun, he's usually ready to flop over for cuddles. He's making great progress with house training. While he's still learning how to let his people know when he needs to go outside, he'll thoughtfully seek out a pee pad if he can't make it outdoors.

Ideal Home

Bear's dream home is with an active family that has a house with a securely fenced backyard and the time to continue his training, socialization, and adventures.

Ongoing Health

As a young Doodle, Bear will require regular grooming. He appears to be low to non-shedding, although we can't guarantee it since we never met his father.
