Ricky is a 4-year-old Maltese–Yorkie mix, approximately 10 lbs, who came into rescue from a hoarding situation. While his early life didn’t provide the stability every dog deserves, Ricky is now discovering what it means to be part of a caring family. His foster family is patiently showing him that visitors are kind, that gentle hands bring comfort, and that love can be a consistent and reliable part of life. Each day he grows a little braver. When Ricky feels secure with his people, his true personality shines through, becoming an incredibly devoted and affectionate companion who forms deep bonds with those he trusts. He loves being close to his family and takes his role very seriously.

Ideal Home

Ricky would do best in a mature home without small children. Quick movements and unexpected activity can still startle him, so a calm, low-traffic household will help him continue to build confidence and feel safe.

Ongoing Health

Ricky is neutered and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations.

Training & Support

Ricky is currently working on potty training and may occasionally have accidents due to excitement. With patience, routine, encouragement, and medication, he is expected to continue improving as he settles into a stable home environment. Ricky is doing well living with other dogs and takes cues from them, which helps him feel more comfortable.

Transportation

Ricky is in a foster home and can be transported to approved adopters.
