Meet Oakley! This handsome 68lb Terrier/Pitbull mix, born around December 16, 2021, is searching for his forever family. Oakley is a true shadow, always wanting to be wherever you are. His foster mom describes him as independent and very smart, already mastering "sit" and "get on your bed."
Oakley's absolute favorite activity is his daily walks, which he enjoys 3 to 4 times a day. He's a pro at leash manners, though he's learning to "slow down." While Oakley tolerates other dogs, he would be happiest as the only canine companion in his new home. He does have a strong prey drive and enjoys chasing cats and squirrels. After a tough start in life as a stray found in a rough neighborhood, Oakley is incredibly sweet and would love nothing more than to cuddle up by your side.
Ideal Home
Oakley would thrive in a home where he can be your constant companion. He would likely do best in a home without other dogs, and homes with cats or squirrels are not recommended.

Oakley is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.

Oakley is potty trained and a master of leash walking. He is a smart boy who already knows a few commands and would likely benefit from continued positive reinforcement training.

Transportation
Oakley is located in Houston, TX. Transport is available for out-of-state adoptions. We coordinate with transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states. Adopters can track their dog's journey via the Life360 app and will receive updates during transport.
