When Buddha first entered rescue, he looked much older than he really was. His coat was thin, his skin was struggling, and he was significantly underweight. But beneath all of that was a sweet, gentle dog who had never stopped believing people could be kind. Over the last few months, Buddha has undergone an incredible transformation!! His fur is growing back, his healthy weight is returning, and his playful personality has finally started to shine.
The best way to describe Buddha? He's a professional snuggler. He wants to be near his people, loves affection, and genuinely believes he belongs in your lap. He forms strong bonds with those he trusts and looks to his humans for reassurance and approval.

• Generally does well with female dogs and neutered males

Medical Notes:
• Diagnosed with hypothyroidism and doing very well on treatment
• Takes a small thyroid pill every 12 hours
• His coat, skin, weight, and energy level have all improved significantly since starting medication
• Expected to continue thriving with routine medication and veterinary monitoring
Buddha's foster often jokes that it seems like he's finally getting the puppyhood he missed the first time around. The dog who once worried about his next meal now leaves food in his bowl. The dog who arrived looking defeated now seeks out affection, plays, and enjoys being part of a family.
Buddha is being fostered in Bolder, CO. Paid transport can be arranged. Transport costs range from $200-400.
