Meet Tonka!
Tonka is a big, goofy, lovable Akita with a silly personality and plenty of affection to share. He loves walks, frozen Kongs, puzzle toys, squeaky toys, and any activity that keeps his mind engaged. When he's excited, he's all kisses and enthusiasm, and he's learning his manners every day. He was born in February 2026.
Ideal Home
Tonka is looking for an experienced, breed-savvy adopter who understands the unique traits and needs of Akitas and is committed to providing structure, training, and proper management. He would thrive with an active family and a securely fenced yard where he can stretch his legs and enjoy supervised outdoor time. Tonka has a strong prey drive and is very interested in squirrels and cats, so he will need careful introductions to other pets and may be happiest as the only dog in the home.
Ongoing Health
All of our dogs will be current on flea/heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days.
Training & Support
Tonka's ideal family will appreciate his goofy spirit, continue his training, and understand that building trust and maintaining boundaries are key to helping him succeed. Because we're still learning his preferences with other dogs, any introductions should be done slowly and thoughtfully.

- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- The adoption fee is $350 plus transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, a registered microchip, fecal analysis, spay/neuter for pets 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old.
- Our animal adoptions are NOT on a first come- first serve basis. Our sole purpose is to find the best possible home for the animals that fall under our care.
Transporation
Tonka is being fostered in Texas and is available for transport. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue.
