Big Mama

Big Mama is an affectionate, athletic, adventure-loving 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull Terrier mix who enjoys going on walks and meeting new people! She was found laying in the middle of the road and was taken in by a kind couple. Unfortunately, they had a pup who was not good with other dogs, so they had to take Big Mama to the local shelter. Being a pittie mix, she was quickly put on the euthanasia list after her stray hold was up. Thanks to tireless networking, she was rescued and brought to safety! Big Mama is incredibly people-friendly and loves to cuddle. She can be unaware of her size at times, so watch out when she's zooming around the yard at high speeds! When she was overweight, she weighed over 70lbs, but she's now at a healthier weight of around 60lbs. She loves to lounge around indoors, but once she's outside, it's gametime!

Ideal Home

Big Mama would do best in a home with only male dogs, as she tends to be more assertive and dominant with other female dogs. While she enjoys playing with others, she does not need a doggy sibling to live her best life. Due to her energy level and being unaware of how big she is, she should ideally go to a home without young children.

Training & Support

Big Mama is potty and crate trained, knows "sit" and "shake," is very smart, and is good on a leash.
