Chewie is a handsome 114-pound Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix with a personality to match his impressive size. He may resemble a Golden Retriever, but don't let that fool you; he also has the stubbornness typical of his guardian breed lineage! Raised with immense love, Chewie understands the joy of being part of a family and is now searching for a home where he can truly flourish. He's a big lover at heart, enjoying snuggle sessions indoors, playing with his toys, and romping around the house. Chewie is an outdoor enthusiast who would be happiest with ample space to roam, cool weather, exciting adventures, and an adopter ready for a loyal sidekick. He loves to be involved in whatever you're doing, from exploring trails to relaxing in the backyard. A special bonus for Chewie would be access to snow, a sprinkler, or a pool, as he absolutely adores water and snow! He has also done well boarding on a farm around horses when his family is away. For the perfect family, Chewie promises to be an incredibly loyal companion and a constant shadow.
Ideal Home
Chewie thrives on calm energy and prefers thoughtful introductions. Due to his resource-guarding tendencies, his size, and his strength, he is not a suitable match for homes with small children or small dogs. He needs a confident handler who understands large breeds and can continue to guide him towards success.
Ongoing Health
Chewie is up-to-date on his DHPP and rabies vaccines, microchipped, and has been dewormed. He is also current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
Training & Support
Chewie has resource-guarding tendencies. He would benefit from continued guidance and support from a confident handler experienced with large breeds.
