Wes is estimated to be just over a year old and weighs around 51 lbs. He appears to be a lab/pittie mix with a happy-go-lucky, people-loving personality that shines through in everything he does. He wakes up ready to enjoy life and wants to bring you along for the adventure!
Wes has a warm, welcoming energy that makes him instantly lovable. He's quick to greet new people with enthusiasm and adoration, happily rolling over for belly rubs. He makes fast friends everywhere he goes and is wonderfully social with other dogs, enjoying playful interactions, especially in a group setting. He would thrive with another medium-energy dog to play with and keep him company, though he can match a higher energy level if needed. After playtime, Wes has a great "off switch" and is happy to settle down.
Ideal Home
Wes would do well in a home with a yard or an apartment, as long as his person enjoys getting out and about with him. He would absolutely shine as a go-everywhere, do-everything kind of dog for hikes, patio hangs, and neighborhood strolls. He'll do best with a dog-savvy cat who can set boundaries and ideally a home with another dog so he has an appropriate outlet for his playful side. Wes can get a little vocal, so apartment living isn't ideal. A house with a yard is the dream for him to enjoy play sessions and roll around in the grass.

Training & Support
Wes is still growing out of puppy enthusiasm on leash and can be a bit of a puller when he sees other dogs, which is pure excitement, not reactivity. He responds well to corrections and is very treat-motivated, so with consistency and snacks, he will polish up nicely. He loves his food and takes treats gently with great manners.

Transporation
Wes is located in Texas and can be transported nationwide using our rescue's USDA certified transport system. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pickup in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A surcharge of $87 applies due to transportation costs.
