Parker is a quiet, gentle, and easygoing boy who weighs an estimated 21 lbs and is around 2 years old. He has a soft presence and a calm nature, bringing a peaceful energy that can make any home feel more grounded. While his breed is a best guess, he appears to be a Portuguese Podengo. Parker shines when he's around other dogs; he's currently in a foster home with multiple dogs and has been wonderfully comfortable, greeting them politely and then going about his business. He doesn't need to be the center of attention, just happy to be part of the pack.
Ideal Home
Parker would thrive in a multi-dog home where he can take his cues from confident, friendly dogs. He would also do well in a house with a yard where he can explore at his own pace, or in a calmer, lower-traffic apartment, especially during his initial adjustment period. He needs a patient, understanding home that gives him the space to decompress and adjust at his own pace.
Ongoing Health
All vetting is up to date, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, and he has been spayed/neutered. He receives flea prevention and a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative. He has also been tested for heartworms.
Training & Support
Parker is house-trained and sleeps through the night. He is shy with people at first and takes affection slowly, not due to resistance, but because it's unfamiliar. He allows handling without issues and shows no signs of aggression, just a gentle hesitation with new touch. He is still building confidence on leash and can find new environments a bit overwhelming, but he handles walks without fuss. With gentle guidance and continued exposure, he will continue to improve. He will benefit from patience and consistency as his confidence grows.

Parker is located in Texas and can be transported nationwide via USDA-certified transport with 24/7 care and real-time tracking. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pickup in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A $87 surcharge applies for transport. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
