Maya

Maya is a loving, intelligent, obedient, and playful girl who is about 1 year old and weighs around 30 lbs. She's an energetic and sociable mix of Labrador and Creole, happy to interact with humans, children, and other dogs. Maya enjoys playtime, walks, and running, and she absolutely adores affection. She can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but a little bit of love and she'll melt right into your arms. She's also friendly with dogs and cats. Maya was rescued in March 2024, found in a field with her siblings.

Ideal Home

Maya would thrive in an active home with owners who enjoy outdoor activities. A securely fenced backyard is a must for her. Families should have an open mind about the needs and behaviors of rescued animals and be prepared for an adjustment period. Experience with dog behavior and training, along with high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies, is highly valued.

Maya has undergone a comprehensive health protocol:

• Spayed
• 2 DHPPI vaccines
• Rabies vaccine
• Bordetella vaccine
• Dewormed
• Microchipped
• 4DX test
• Heartworm test (negative)
• Monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive (fleas, ticks, and heartworm)
• Health Certificate
• Vaccines booklet

Training & Support

Maya is crate and leash trained. It's important to note that rescued dogs may have had difficult pasts and may need time to decompress and adjust to a new home. Patience and understanding are crucial. While she is not currently house-trained, with consistent guidance and positive reinforcement, she can learn.

• You will need to complete an online application.
• A phone/email interview will be scheduled.
• A home check (virtual or in-person) will be conducted.
• A virtual meet-and-greet will be arranged.
• A trial adoption period with ongoing communication with our team is part of the process.

Transportation

Maya is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transportation to the adopter's home address is available for an additional fee of $400.00, paid by the adopter prior to departure.
