Say hello to Nikita! This beautiful 3-year-old Pomsky mix, weighing around 27 lbs, boasts a striking black, grey, and white coat with subtle auburn highlights and a fluffy tail. Her unique brown eyes, one with a hint of Husky blue, give her an especially sweet and expressive face. Nikita has made incredible progress since coming to us from a puppy mill, where she had very little experience with life's simple joys. She was initially nervous but has blossomed into a confident explorer who now enjoys cuddles, walks, and playtime in the yard. She's a calm, quiet, and low-maintenance companion who loves to relax but also enjoys her daily adventures. Nikita is fully house-trained, sleeps soundly in her crate, and is comfortable being left alone for several hours. While she's still learning to trust, she shows affection in gentle ways and appreciates quiet companionship. She enjoys walks, though loud noises can still startle her, and she does well with other dogs after a polite introduction.
Ideal Home
Nikita would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can continue her outdoor explorations. She is uncomfortable around young children and needs a calm, predictable environment. An adult-only home (18+) or a home with adult children would be ideal. While not a requirement, another calm dog in the home could be a wonderful influence.
Ongoing Health
Nikita is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and is in excellent health. She handles vet visits well and requires no special medications. She does shed moderately to heavily, so regular brushing will be important.
Training & Support
Nikita is house-trained and crate-trained. She is learning to be more confident on walks, and while she's improved significantly, loud or unfamiliar noises can still make her hesitant. Patience and continued positive reinforcement will help her confidence grow.
