Buddy Edward

Buddy Edward is a middle-aged dude with a bit of a belly, but we're working on that! He's the happiest, most waddling Shih Tzu around, complete with a charming snort. Buddy came to us at 18 lbs, and while his vet says his bloodwork looks great, his weight is a concern and we want to prevent any obesity-related issues. His foster family has him on a special diet and kibble, with just one meal a day. He has curly white and tan fur and is sporting a full coat after some skin infections caused temporary bald spots. As is common with his breed, Buddy will require extensive grooming, including regular salon visits, in addition to exercise.

Ideal Home

Buddy enjoys being with his people and would love a family who can give him plenty of attention and lap time.

Ongoing Health

Buddy's weight is a health concern, and he is currently on a diet and special kibble. His skin infections have cleared and his fur has grown back. He is up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and neutered. He tested negative for heartworms and is on prevention.

Training & Support

Buddy is leash-trained and potty-trained. He loves car rides and is eager to go anywhere!

Transportation

Buddy is currently fostered in Texas. Transportation options are available to the PNW (WA, UT, ID), Midwest (MN, WI, MI, OH, IL, IN), or select New England States (NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT). Canadian adopters must drive to meet locations in the USA. Buddy is also eligible for travel with Southwest Airlines from Houston to any major airport approved by SWAAT.
