Meet Rue! Rue is a 21 lb. Basenji Cattle Dog mix, with an estimated birthday of 6/1/25. Don't let his size fool you; Rue is convinced he's one of the big dogs, and honestly, they seem to agree! This confident little guy loves running, wrestling, and playing with dogs much bigger than he is. He is fearless, athletic, and always ready to join in on the fun. Whether it's a game of chase or rough-and-tumble playtime, Rue knows exactly how to keep up with the pack. But once playtime is over, Rue has a completely different side. He's incredibly affectionate and loves climbing into your lap for cuddles, kisses, and quality time with his favorite people. His idea of the perfect evening is curling up with a soft blanket, a cozy pillow, and a few well-earned treats. Rue is easygoing, social, and has a wonderful balance of playful energy and affectionate companionship. He's the kind of dog who's just as happy exploring the backyard as he is relaxing beside you after a long day. • Adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.

Transportation

Rue is located in Houston, TX. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport. Transport is included in the adoption fee.
