Dixie

Dixie, affectionately known as Dixie Doodle, is a sweet 8-year-old, 23-pound Chihuahua mix looking for a patient and understanding home. She's a loving companion who enjoys following her fosters and will gently play with various toys. Dixie also loves to be a lap dog and will rest quietly, happily accepting your attention. She travels well and is good with cats.

Ideal Home

Dixie would thrive in a home that appreciates her unique personality and can provide her with patient, understanding, and lots of love. Due to occasional nipping when receiving medication, an adult-only home with no children is recommended.

Ongoing Health

Dixie recently had a stage 1 cancerous mass removed with clean margins, which is excellent news. She also underwent cherry eye surgery and cyst removal. Her teeth are scheduled for cleaning and extraction on May 20th. Dixie is on a strict weight loss diet.

Training & Support

Dixie is mostly house-trained, though occasional accidents may happen. She is crate-trained but does not require it. She is mostly leash-trained but needs a bit more practice. While not aggressive, she can be a little nippy when being given medication, so using pill pockets is recommended.
