About Philomena

Philomena is an incredibly happy, affectionate puppy who is blossoming every day! She had a tough start in life after being found as a severely emaciated stray, but thanks to a kind Good Samaritan, emergency veterinary care, and a carefully monitored re-feeding plan and lots of TLC, she's gaining healthy weight, growing stronger, and will soon be medically cleared for her spay surgery. While her past is a mystery, her devotion to her people is clear – she loves to be close and cuddle. When she's not showering you with affection, Philomena is a fun-loving, goofy puppy who enjoys playtime and would thrive with another friendly, well-socialized dog who can match her enthusiasm and help teach her canine manners. She's learning to understand social cues and is eager to discover more about the world around her. Philomena can be a little unsure of loud noises and is still building her confidence, but she's very food-motivated and loves learning new things. She's working on leash skills and is already making great progress. She's mostly house-trained, uses pee pads, rides well in the car, and knows "down," "come," and "drop it."

Philomena is looking for a family that will continue to help her discover how wonderful life can be. She would thrive with another playful canine sibling to show her the ropes.

Training & Support

Philomena is working on leash skills and is still learning that the leash isn't a chew toy, but she's making great progress. She is food-motivated and loves mastering new things, making training a rewarding experience. She is mostly house-trained and knows "down," "come," and "drop it." She can be a little unsure around loud noises and is still building her confidence.
