Doug

Doug is a sweet, 8 lb senior who was born with microphthalmia. This condition doesn't affect his cuddly nature or his love for human companionship. He does prefer that other dogs give his kennel and food bowl space a wide berth, and can become quite vocal if they venture too close. However, once outside of these designated areas and away from his food, he gets along well with other dogs, sometimes a little too well! We're hopeful his recent neuter will help him with this habit. Doug is the perfect lap dog for someone looking for a companion who enjoys occasional walks and doesn't mind marking a few trees along the way.

Ideal Home

Doug needs a home without other male dogs to avoid any "marking contests." Given his senior status, an adult-only home or one with mature children who understand and respect boundaries is preferred. Senior dogs can sometimes become a bit grumpy with very young children who don't give them their space.

Ongoing Health

Doug was born with microphthalmia, but this does not affect his overall sweetness or need for cuddles. He is neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Doug can be vocal when other dogs approach his kennel and food bowl. While he generally loves other dogs, he needs clear boundaries around his personal space and food. His recent neuter may help with marking behaviors.
