Meet Benson!

Benson is a gentle, five-year-old mixed breed with a heart full of loyalty and a soul full of quiet devotion. He's a large boy, weighing about 75 pounds, with a handsome cream coat and soulful eyes that hint at his intelligence and sensitivity. Benson loves to be by your side, whether it's accompanying you on a car ride, lounging by the window, or snuggling up for a cozy evening. He's a smart cookie too, knowing commands like sit, stay, come, and even sweet little tricks like giving kisses and snuggling. When he's not busy being your best friend, Benson enjoys chasing balls, playing enrichment games, swimming, and enjoying a good chew.

Ideal Home

Benson would thrive in a calm and structured environment with a securely fenced yard that is at least six feet tall, as he has been known to jump fences. He needs a home where he feels safe, supported, and understood. Benson is not compatible with cats and requires an adult-only home.

Ongoing Health

Benson requires daily medication to manage his allergies and support his emotional well-being.

Training & Support

While Benson walks well on leash, he can sometimes pull, so continued positive reinforcement training will help him stay focused. He is selective with other dogs and can be reactive to unfamiliar ones, needing thoughtful and managed introductions. He has a history of an altercation with another dog in his home, so he would do best as the only dog or with a caregiver experienced in structured, gradual introductions using positive reinforcement.
