Ella (loves people - needs a chance)

Meet ELLA! This sweet 3-year-old, 65 lb girl is full of energy and affection, but she's had a rough start. Ella was hit by a car and required hip surgery, and shortly after, she needed emergency surgery to remove a life-threatening object. Despite these challenges, Ella is incredibly resilient and loves her people! She's a social butterfly who adores car rides and tractor rides with her foster dad. Ella is also very cuddly and calm when she's one-on-one with her favorite humans. She has a zest for life and loves to run, swim, and play fetch – you'll rarely see her without a toy!

Ideal Home

Ella needs an experienced large-breed owner or family who can provide plenty of exercise and continue her training. A fenced yard would be ideal for her to safely burn off energy, but she'd love for you to join her for games of fetch. Ella needs to be the only pet in the home, as she is unpredictable with other animals, and she is not good with cats or small dogs. Children would be fine, but no very young children due to her size and exuberance.

Ongoing Health

Ella is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm and tick-borne illnesses.

Training & Support

Ella has trained with renowned dog trainer Paul Deschamp at Wild Harbor Canine. Paul believes Ella is a great dog and is impressed by her abilities. If you live in the Cotuit, MA area, you could continue working with Paul. Ella needs continued training and significant exercise to help her become the best version of herself.

Transportation

Ella is currently being fostered in Dayville, CT, but she also travels regularly to Cape Cod with her foster family.
