Hi, I'm Soldier! I'm a 14-year-old American Pit Bull who might be a senior, but I'm still healthy, active, and full of life. I love going on walks and enjoy spending time outside when the weather is nice. After that, you'll usually find me relaxing and chilling on my dog bed. My journey hasn't always been easy; I was abandoned at a boarding facility when I was around 2 years old, and after no one came back for me, I eventually made my way here. Because of my past, I can have some trust issues and tend to choose my people carefully. Confident, calm humans are usually my kind of people. Once I trust you, though, I'm incredibly loyal. I'm very loved here! I even have a dedicated volunteer who visits me every single day and spoils me rotten, and the staff and volunteers make sure I know just how special I am. I'm extremely clean in my kennel, and when I've stayed in foster homes, I've never had accidents.
Ideal Home
I'm looking for a quiet home, maybe with someone who lives alone or doesn't have many visitors. Someone who enjoys peaceful walks, calm evenings, and a steady routine. I don't need a lot... just patience, consistency, and love. I don't do well in busy or chaotic environments and I don't like cats or rabbits.
Ongoing Health
I am up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, heart-worm preventative, and I've had a heart-worm test.
Training & Support
I walk beautifully on a leash and stay calm around people and dogs while we're out walking. While I've been known to like other dogs, slow and proper introductions are important for me.
