Gina

Gina is an 8-month-old, 56lb spayed female Belgian Malinois mix who was found as a tiny puppy abandoned in a cardboard box near a busy road. Despite her rough start, Gina is now in a loving foster home and eager to find her forever family. She’s a playful pup who enjoys tug-of-war with her small dog foster siblings and can even be found sharing her toy collection. While she can be a bit reserved around unfamiliar, larger dogs due to a past incident, she coexists happily with both small (under 15 lbs) and large (over 75 lbs) dogs in her foster home. Slow introductions are recommended to help her feel comfortable. Gina is a bit too excited by neighborhood cats, so a cat-free home is best.

Ideal Home

Gina would thrive in an active home with someone who will engage her in daily play. She would do well with older, dog-savvy children (10 and up) as she can be jumpy when excited and is still learning her size. A home with another dog would be beneficial for companionship and to help her burn off puppy energy.

Ongoing Health

Gina is healthy and up to date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Gina is crate trained and is making progress with house training, with no accidents when crated for up to 8 hours. She walks well on a leash and shows no signs of separation anxiety. She is currently in the "puppy velociraptor stage" and will need guidance on appropriate chew toys.
