Ferka is a charming Chihuahua, around 4 years old and weighing about 9 lbs. She's a small dog with a huge personality and an even bigger heart. Ferka was found near a church, comfortably navigating a Mass service and interacting with people and other dogs, showing her sweet and social nature. She's crate-trained, travels well in the car, and is friendly with dogs, children, men, and women, even strangers. Ferka is affectionate, loves to play, and adores giving kisses, thriving on human attention and being part of the family activities.
Ideal Home
Ferka would do best with tolerant, playful dogs, or with careful supervision, as her playful energy can sometimes be overwhelming for other dogs. She cannot live with cats, as she tends to chase them. She needs a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. Families should have a genuine intention to rescue, an open mind about the behaviors of rescued animals, and experience in dog behavior and training, or be willing to hire a trainer. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential.
Ongoing Health
Ferka has undergone a comprehensive health protocol, including spay/neuter, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventative. She has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Ferka is not house-trained. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past experiences, and patience and understanding are crucial for building trust and a strong bond.

Transportation
Ferka is currently fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our cross-country trip. Transportation is available door-to-door for a fee of $400 USD. Our transport company organizes trips 3-4 times a year, bringing pets from Mexico to your home. You'll receive real-time updates throughout the journey in a private Facebook Messenger group.
