Opie is a handsome male Husky looking for his forever home! He was found at Animal Control in rough condition, with severe matting and clear signs of neglect. Thankfully, he had a sponsor who helped us bring him into our care, giving him the second chance he so deserves. When Opie arrived, we immediately got to work on his grooming needs, which unfortunately required some shaving due to the severity of his matting. While it's not ideal for a Husky's beautiful coat, it was essential for his comfort and healing.

Opie is also Heartworm Positive, and we are working closely with our veterinarian to ensure he receives the best possible treatment and recovery. Despite his past hardships, Opie is a sweet and resilient boy who is now resting, eating, and beginning his healing journey. He's already showing us glimpses of his wonderful spirit, and we know with the right love and care, he will shine brighter than ever!

Ideal Home

Opie would likely do well in a home that understands his need for patience as he continues to heal. He has a history of resource guarding, so a home that can manage this with positive reinforcement training will be key.

Ongoing Health

Opie is currently being treated for Heartworm. He is also spayed/neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Opie has a known history of resource guarding. We will provide guidance and resources for adopters to help manage this behavior through positive reinforcement. He is noted as house-trained.
