Junior Bear honestly looks like a delightful blend of a wise old soul, a fluffy cloud, and a character from a beloved animated movie! When he first arrived, he was a bit rough around the edges, but watching his transformation has been incredibly rewarding. His coat is already coming back in beautifully, and while we can't predict his exact fluff factor, he's certainly becoming cuter by the day. With his expressive face, that adorable little tongue that always seems to have something to say, and a gentle, shy personality, Junior Bear has a way of quietly capturing hearts. His video is a must-see – prepare to be charmed by the most endearingly peculiar old man face you've ever encountered!
Junior Bear is believed to be a Great Pyrenees/Lab mix, around 6 years old and weighing approximately 50 lbs. As with many rescues, his exact breed and age are a delightful mystery, but his unique charm is undeniable. His expressions are truly something to behold, making you wish you could understand every thought running through his head.
Ideal Home
Junior Bear is a sweet, gentle soul who thrives with patience and understanding. He's a bit of a slow burn, needing time to observe and feel safe before he fully opens up. Baby talk, soft voices, and allowing him to approach you on his own terms work wonders. He would do best in a home with lower to medium-energy, respectful dogs who will give him space to acclimate, as he prefers peaceful coexistence over boisterous play. He has also shown to be very respectful and comfortable around cats. A home with access to a small yard would be beneficial for him to build confidence.
Ongoing Health
Junior Bear is a rescue dog, and while he's transformed beautifully, we can't guarantee exact breed or age.
Training & Support
Junior Bear is a master of the "slow burn" when it comes to trust. He can be uncomfortable with too much touch too quickly in the beginning, but with calm and respectful approaches, he builds trust beautifully. Less leash pressure and more patience are key when walking him; he enjoys leading at his own pace and can freeze if there's too much tension. He is crate trained and quiet in the home.
