French Toast is an adorable 8-10 month-old Heeler mix with soulful eyes, a gentle heart, and the sweetest personality you will ever meet. Like many puppies who didn't have the easiest start in life, he is still learning that the world is a safe place—but every day he grows a little braver. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to find a forever family that understands trust is built through patience, consistency, and kindness. While he has made incredible progress in foster care, moving to a new home will naturally be a big adjustment. He is not the type of puppy who immediately jumps into new situations—but once he realizes he is safe, his affectionate, playful personality begins to shine. One thing we absolutely love about French Toast is how gentle he is. Even when he is unsure, he has never responded with aggression. Instead, he quietly looks to his people for reassurance as he continues learning that new experiences can be good ones. In an unsure situation, French Toast may "flight" instead of "fight," which is why somebody with patience and who can properly manage his safety is important. Around the house, he is an easy companion. He is house-trained, does well in his crate, and loves curling up beside his favorite people after a day of playing. He is still learning that walks and unfamiliar places are nothing to worry about, but he is incredibly smart, eager to learn, and continues making progress every day. He is looking for someone willing to give him the time he needs to settle in, celebrate the little victories, and help him continue becoming the confident dog we know he's capable of being. In return, you will gain a loyal, affectionate best friend who will love you with his whole heart. If you believe that the best relationships are built on patience, trust, and understanding, French Toast may be exactly the companion you've been waiting for.
