Athena

My name is Athena, and I'm a beautiful 3-year-old female German Shepherd who has been through a lot. I was a frequent flyer at a high-kill shelter, and my previous owner only cared about the puppies I could produce. I was scheduled to be euthanized when IDGSR stepped in to save me! Now, I'm ready for a loving home where I can be cherished. I'm affectionate, friendly, and love tummy rubs, playing in the yard, and exploring. I'm also fairly mellow but would love to go on walks, hikes, or adventures with you. If you enjoy gardening, road trips, cooking, or watching soap operas, I'll be your loyal shadow!

Ideal Home

I would prefer a home with teenage or adult children. I get along well with large male dogs, but I do not get along with cats.

Ongoing Health

I am up-to-date on all vaccinations and have been spayed.

Training & Support

I am house and kennel trained and listen reasonably well. However, I do need standard obedience training, so my new family will need to be committed to helping me learn.

• All dogs are fostered in Tennessee unless otherwise noted.
• Dogs are introduced to prospective adopters by appointment only.
• Due to the high volume of inquiries, first priority will be given to those with submitted applications.
• All rescue work is done by dedicated volunteers, please be respectful of their time.

Transporation

I am currently being fostered in Greeneville, TN. Transport to the East Coast is available for an additional fee.
