Meet Halo! This sweet girl's story began in a high-intake shelter where she found herself on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, a dedicated shelter staff member stepped in, offering to foster Halo and giving her a precious chance at life. Her calm, loving, and middle-aged (around 5-6 years old) spirit made such an impression that she was given this opportunity! Now, Halo is ready to find her deserving forever family. She's a fluffy ~85-pound companion who has truly mastered the art of relaxation. You'll often find her enjoying a brief wander in the yard before coming inside to flop down, her front legs bent out in front of her. Her easygoing personality perfectly matches her size, though she does have a few pounds to lose. Halo is a treat-motivated marvel, eager to show off her "sit" and "shake" commands, and willing to learn more tricks for a tasty reward, making her a fun and trainable addition to any home. She has a history of getting along wonderfully with other dogs and has been fantastic with children. More than anything, Halo thrives on human companionship and settles into a new home as if she's always belonged, happiest when she's close to her people.
Ideal Home
Halo would thrive in a home where she won't be left alone for long stretches. While she can use a crate, she'd much prefer to be with her humans. A family that doesn't plan to kennel her often would be a great fit. She would also love a yard or some space to roam and explore, especially since she likely has some Great Pyrenees in her, who enjoy having room to investigate.
