About Mylo

Meet Mylo – a 4-year-old, neutered, 44-pound Cattle Dog mix with a perpetually peeking tongue and a heart full of love! Mylo is a truly original pup, one part goofball, one part model, and 100% wonderful. His tongue is a little too long for his mouth, giving him a signature "perma-blep" that's utterly charming. A vet has confirmed this is just how he was born and doesn't cause him pain, though he does appreciate a little extra hydration now and then. He also has a slight protruding bone at the base of his rib cage, which is simply another unique feature that makes him, him!

Mylo is an affectionate, silly, and curious boy who thrives on activity. He enjoys long walks, loves to play in the yard, and has a classic Cattle Dog's zest for life. He's quite the social butterfly, interacting well with dogs of all sizes in his foster home. He's a good reader of canine social cues and adjusts his play style accordingly. Mylo can be vocal when he's excited or playing, making noises like growling and grunting – it's all part of his charming personality and not a sign of aggression! He's friendly on walks, though his initial vocalizations might sound intense. However, his enthusiasm for meeting new dogs is clear.

Ideal Home

Mylo is looking for a moderately active family with a yard where he can run and play. Daily walks or fetch sessions are a must to keep his energy levels happy. He'd do best in a home with older children (10+) who are steady on their feet and understand how to interact with an energetic dog. Due to his interest in chasing cats, a feline-free home is preferred. He also thrives in a home where someone is around more often than not, or with a flexible schedule.

Ongoing Health

Mylo was born with a tongue that is slightly too long for his mouth, giving him a "perma-blep." This is a congenital condition and does not cause him pain. He may need a little extra hydration. He also has a slight protruding bone at the base of his rib cage, which is not a cause for concern.

Training & Support

Mylo is a smart and responsive dog who is eager to please. He is working on manners like jumping and treat-taking and would benefit from continued positive reinforcement training. He can pull on the leash when excited, so a no-pull harness or Gentle Leader might be helpful. While he's fully house-trained, he may occasionally flinch at quick movements or new objects, so a patient home that allows him to settle in at his own pace will be beneficial. He prefers to eat his snacks and special treats separately from other dogs.
