I've lived a whole life before this-one that feels like it had a home, routines, and people once upon a time. I still remember how to be a good house dog. I know where I'm supposed to go, I mind my manners, and I settle in like I've done this all before... because I probably have. Somehow, I ended up alone and found my way to a crowded shelter. It was loud and confusing, and I was getting overlooked. Time wasn't on my side-but then Houston Pets Alive! saw me, and they chose me. They gave me a chance when I needed it most. I'm not in a hurry these days. I take my time getting around, but I can handle a few stairs and enjoy short, easy walks. Mostly, I'm just looking for the simple things now-a soft bed, a quiet space, and someone who will let me rest my head nearby and feel safe again. I'd do best in a calm home without small pets (I'm a little too curious about them), but I've done just fine with friendly dogs around my size or even a bit smaller. I'm in my golden years, and I know I'm not the flashy, bouncy dog everyone runs toward first. But if you're looking for a gentle soul who just wants love, comfort, and a place to belong again... I'm right here. I don't need much. Just a home to spend the rest of my days knowing I mattered.
