Brie is a stunning, approximately 3-year-old, 60+ pound livestock guardian breed who has blossomed beautifully after a rough start. She arrived at a shelter in poor health but has made a full recovery and is now a devoted and loyal companion. Brie is an independent thinker, naturally protective, and takes her time getting to know new people. Once she trusts you, she'll be a loyal friend for life. She has done well with other dogs with slow introductions and would likely be happiest as the only pet in a home, especially for those adopting from out of state.
Ideal Home
Brie would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely enjoy the outdoors while still being an integral part of the family. She is not suited for an outdoor-only home and wants to be inside with her people. We recommend a home with older children who understand respectful interaction with dogs, as she has not been tested with young children. Experience with livestock guardian breeds, or a strong desire to learn about them, is highly desired.
Ongoing Health
Brie was previously treated for heartworm and has made a full recovery. All our dogs are vetted by a licensed veterinarian, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before transport.
Training & Support
Brie is new to living inside a home but has shown great promise by keeping her kennel clean and not destroying her bedding. With patience and consistency, she is expected to adjust well to indoor living. She is alert to squirrels, and her prey drive may extend to other small animals.
