About Clyde

Meet Clyde! He's a 4-year-old Husky Mix who was initially brought to us due to his medical needs. Clyde has truly blossomed since joining our care! When we first met him, it was clear that pain was overshadowing his wonderfully sweet nature and his capacity for love. Thankfully, a foster with extensive medical experience opened their home to Clyde, providing him with a safe and nurturing environment.

Since his arrival, Clyde has seen an orthopedic specialist and was diagnosed with carpal hyperextension and hip dysplasia. He now has custom-made braces for his front legs to manage his hyperextension, which are a permanent accessory for him (and come with him to his new home!). While he can be a bit of a sassy howler when they're being put on, these braces are already making a significant difference on his walks. The specialist determined that surgery wasn't necessary for his hip dysplasia at this time. Clyde receives joint supplements and fish oil to aid his comfort. He can't jump on the bed but uses doggy stairs with ease. His adopter should not expect an intense exercise companion, but he enjoys short to medium-length walks and is a great leash walker!

Clyde is a playful pup who adores his toys. He experienced some minor resource guarding with other pets when he first settled in, but he has made tremendous progress thanks to the consistent support and redirection from his foster. He's not a fan of booty or belly rubs, but he'll happily hold paws with you and is a super snuggly companion once he's comfortable. True to his Husky heritage, Clyde is full of sass and will grumble and vocalize to let you know his feelings – he's quite the talker!

Clyde could thrive as an only dog or in a home with other canine companions. He enjoys playful interactions with the dogs in his foster home, both big and small, but also values his personal space. He's even adjusted wonderfully to living with a cat and now shares his affection and playtime with his foster feline sibling! Clyde still has days where he experiences some soreness, so we believe an older child household would be the best fit. Overall, Clyde would prefer a calm and relaxed home environment. He's a truly special boy searching for an equally special person to give him the loving forever home he deserves.
