Albert

Albert is a 13-year-old, 70-pound Yellow Labrador Retriever with a gentle heart and an old soul. He's a sweet, laid-back guy who loves snuggles, naps, and a slow, peaceful life. Albert naps a lot and will snooze pretty much anywhere—including tiny spots like closets. When he wants cuddles, he’ll flop onto the couch and do his happy little wriggle until you notice him. He is very good with the dogs in his foster home and with any foster pups who come and go. He knows several commands—Sit, Paw, Lay, and Come.

Ideal Home

Albert dreams of a slow-paced family or an older couple who will let him spend his golden years in comfort. A fenced yard would be wonderful so he can bask in the sun and feel the breeze without going too far. He is not good with cats.

Ongoing Health

Albert has special needs due to his age. He is deaf, prone to ear infections, and has a cyst on his neck that bleeds occasionally but doesn’t bother him. He takes medication for pain, mobility, and his joints. He doesn’t have a lot of mobility, so short walks, snuggles, and simple routines are perfect for him.

Training & Support

Albert is still working on his house and crate skills, but he’s great on the leash. Out in public, he can be reactive to some unfamiliar dogs.

Transporation

Albert is located at Rescue One Springfield. They do adopt out of state with vet references and a video home check. The adopter is responsible for coming to get the dog and returning the dog if the adoption does not work out.
