Gentry

Gentry is a shy and cautious 3-year-old female Poodle, weighing around 10 lbs. She comes to us from a breeder and is ready to start her new life. While timid, there's a quiet sweetness waiting to blossom. Gentry spent her early years as a breeding dog, and now she deserves a peaceful and loving home. She's still learning to trust, and with time and patience, her true personality will shine. She enjoys the company of other dogs and takes comfort in their presence.

Ideal Home

Gentry needs a patient and understanding home where she can continue to build her confidence. A home with at least one friendly, confident, and well-adjusted "mentor" dog is a must, as this will be crucial for her to learn and feel secure. Homes with children under the age of six are not suitable for Gentry.

Ongoing Health

Gentry has moderate dental tartar that will require a dental cleaning in the future. She also has grade 2/4 luxating patellas.

Training & Support

Gentry is still very cautious and fearful of new things, but she has not had any accidents in the home. She is learning basic commands like "stop" and is becoming more comfortable being picked up. She is gradually learning to take treats and enjoys spending quiet time with her foster parent. She is not yet leash trained, as her foster is allowing her time to decompress. Consistent positive reinforcement and a slow introduction to new experiences will be key to her continued progress.
