Now four months old, this adorable Shepherd 'Heinz 57' mix is leaving her difficult start behind and discovering just how wonderful life can be.
She is making great progress every day! She's doing very well in her crate at night and is becoming more confident in her surroundings. Like many puppies who have experienced instability early in life, she can be a little needy at times and sometimes struggles with anxiety. She also has some resource-guarding behaviors that she and her trainer are actively working through.
What shines through most is her loving personality. She is sweet, cuddly, and absolutely adores people. She loves being close to her humans and is happiest when she's by your side. Recently, she's started to really enjoy playing and getting excited with the other dogs in her foster home, which has been wonderful to see.
She would make an excellent companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend and constant shadow. She can also do well in a home with another dog, especially if the household is well-managed and continues to support her growth and confidence.Possum has started her puppy vaccines; adopter will need to continue this protocol until completion if she is adopted before it is completed by H2H.

Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.
We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions. We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.
