Demi

Demi is a beautiful Shepherd/Malinois mix who, along with over 40 other dogs, was rescued from a horrific hoarding situation. Crammed into an apartment with no access to sunlight or the outdoors, these dogs endured years of inhumane conditions and squalor. Officials in NYC have called this "one of the most disturbing animal welfare cases we have seen here." While other dogs from the rescue were shut down, Demi exhibited fear aggression when she felt threatened or that her bonded human was at risk.

Thankfully, a plan was quickly put in place for Demi to begin training with world-renowned trainer Konnie Hein. Under Konnie's expert guidance, Demi is now thriving and making daily strides! Her weight and muscling have improved, and her overall demeanor is much more open. One of the biggest improvements is her engagement with toys! Initially afraid of moving objects, precious Demi now chases and carries balls, showing a newfound joy in play. She is learning to adjust to normal life and discover that people can be fun.
