Meet Jack, a one-of-a-kind Blue Heeler mix with an unforgettable smile. At one year old and 41 pounds, he is smart, athletic, loyal, curious, playful, affectionate, and wonderfully goofy. Rescued from a rural shelter outside Houston, Jack is looking for a committed forever family ready to help him continue building confidence.

Jack loves being included in daily life, playing fetch, cuddling for belly rubs, and showing off his big teethy grin. He is obsessed with stuffies and balls, highly food motivated, and eager to learn.

Ideal Home

Jack is dog-friendly and loves playing with canine friends. A playful dog sibling would be wonderful, though not required if his family can provide plenty of activity and socialization. He loves children and enjoys running and playing with them.

As an active cattle dog, Jack would thrive with a family prepared to provide exercise, mental stimulation, structure, enrichment, and daily adventures such as hiking, running, fetch, training games, obedience, or agility. He can be nervous around unfamiliar people and busy, unfamiliar environments, but he warms up quickly once he feels safe.

Ongoing Health

No medical conditions or health testing information is provided for Jack.

Training & Support

Jack already knows sit and down. He is intelligent, food motivated, and eager to learn. He does beautifully in his kennel and sleeps quietly through the night. He is also happy to sleep close to his humans. When excited, he can be a little mouthy and nibbly, so patience and continued guidance will help him succeed.
