About Zoey

Zoey is a spunky, 1-year-old spayed female who was rescued just in time from euthanasia. She gave birth to four puppies shortly after her rescue and proved to be a devoted mother. Now that her puppies are grown, Zoey is ready to find a loving home of her own! She is a playful pup who enjoys wrestling and roughhousing with her canine companions. After a good play session, she loves to snuggle up with her foster siblings or curl up in a crate for a nap. She also enjoys snuggling on the couch and will happily climb into your lap for some affection. Zoey is a sweet and loving girl who is eager to find a family to shower with love and attention.

Ideal Home

Zoey would thrive in an active household with another dog of similar energy levels. Due to a past negative experience with young children, a home without children is recommended. If children visit, proper precautions must be taken. Zoey has a strong prey drive and should not be left unsupervised around small animals. A secure yard is essential, as Zoey is an escape artist and has been known to chew through chain-link fencing and harnesses.

Ongoing Health

Zoey is spayed and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations.

Training & Support

Zoey needs patience and consistency with her training. She has a habit of jumping up and doesn't always sit on command. She can be slow to warm up to new people and can be vocal when someone approaches the house. If left alone for extended periods, Zoey can become destructive, so short periods of crate confinement may be necessary. She needs plenty of chew toys to satisfy her energetic nature.
