Penny is an adorable, quirky little girl, about 4 years old, who was found terrified and alone on a busy street in Houston. Despite her rough start, she's a sturdy and resilient pup with a beautiful brindle coat and eyes that show her loving heart. She has a unique way of communicating with a mix of howls and coos, and her "sploot" yoga pose is a hilarious sight! Penny is a toy destroyer, so durable chew toys are a must, but she'll generously leave the squeaker for you. She enjoys the company of other dogs, big or small, and is happy to be by her human's side, whether for playtime or quiet work-from-home companionship. She's a brave girl who doesn't mind playful nips from smaller dogs and has started showing her trust by rolling onto her back for belly rubs. While she might be a master escape artist when doors are left ajar, she's generally a well-behaved pup who responds well to gentle cues.
Ideal Home
Penny would love a home with a furry friend to play with, but she's also content to be wherever her human is. She's not a fan of sudden loud noises and prefers not to be woken abruptly.
Ongoing Health
Penny is heartworm negative, spayed, and up-to-date on all vaccinations.
Training & Support
Penny is a toy destroyer and will need heavy-duty chew toys. She can be a bit of an escape artist and may try to scoot through slightly open doors. Waking her suddenly can be startling for her, but she responds well to gentle cues like "Time for little dogs to go night night."
