Merle is already stealing hearts with his quiet charm and playful personality. Picked up as a stray and now safe in our rescue, Merle is believed to be about six years old and weighs 55 pounds. This handsome dog has a black coat with a splash of white on his chest, a touch of white on his chin, and adorable white-tipped paws that make him look as though he dressed up for the occasion. Merle is an incredibly sweet boy with a playful, puppy-like spirit. He would bark when someone first approached his kennel, but as soon as he saw a friendly face, his tail would start wagging, and his happy personality would shine through. Merle loves being with both people and other dogs and would make a wonderful companion for an active family or someone looking for a loyal best friend. Whether you're heading out for a walk, tackling a hiking trail, or relaxing in the shade, he's happiest just being by your side. He has a wonderful balance of playful energy and affection, loves to cuddle, happily accepts belly rubs, and is always ready to hand out sweet kisses. Merle sleeps well, eats well, is house-trained, and already knows a few basic commands. He can be a little hesitant with head pats at first and prefers gentle body pets instead. Merle has a thin frame that we hope will soon fill out with regular meals, love, and proper care. We are unsure about Merle's history with children and cats, but so far, he has shown himself to be gentle, friendly, and eager for kindness. He also loves to watch birds, often pausing with curiosity to take in their every move. One thing is already clear, this sweet boy deserves a soft bed, a loving family, and a future filled with security and love.
