Meet Perla: The Dog Who Smiles If you've ever wondered if a dog can smile, Perla is the living proof. Whether she's greeting a total stranger or reuniting with a friend, she approaches everyone with a wagging tail and an expression that just makes you want to giggle. Commonly referred to in local rescue circles as a "Florida Brown Dog," Perla is a mixed breed. This affectionate term describes a unique Darwinian mix of DNA that consistently results in dogs with a specific look and temperament: a warm caramel coat, perhaps a splash of a white blaze on the chest or white-tipped paws, and-most importantly-an unfailingly loving nature. Perla is a gentle, kind-hearted soul.

She is fully house-trained and crate-trained, though she prefers to be out with her people whenever possible. She is great on a leash, responds well to basic commands, and has excellent recall. She is ready to step into a new home today and become an instant member of the family.

Perla would thrive in most environments but would do very well in an active family. While some dogs might shy away from the high energy or "tugs and pulls" of little ones, Perla is remarkably patient.
