Gunner

Gunner is a 3-year-old, 50-pound, male black and tan hound mix who was rescued from a rural small-town dog pound. He's a goofy and happy hound who loves attention and playing with other dogs. Gunner is crate-trained, comes when called, and enjoys car rides, leash walks, and baths. He prefers to spend hot Texas days inside snoozing on the couch in the air conditioning, but he'll venture out for potty breaks and playtime with his friends. As a hound, Gunner does exhibit some typical hound behaviors, such as jumping high to see squirrels, barking at passersby and other animals, and counter-surfing. He and his canine pals have also been known to raid the garbage if cabinets aren't secured. He's learning not to mark indoors and is believed to be housetrained.

Ideal Home

Gunner loves to be inside, especially in the air conditioning during hot weather. He enjoys playing with other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Gunner is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-negative. He receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Gunner is crate-trained, comes when called, and walks well on a leash. He is working on not counter-surfing and not raiding the garbage. He is also learning not to mark inside.

Transportation

Gunner is located in Texas. In-state adoption fee is $200. Out-of-state adoption fee is $400, which includes ground transport to the PNW, the NE, and other northern states in between.
