Meet Oakley! This handsome 68lb Terrier/Pitbull mix, estimated to be born around December 16, 2021, is searching for his forever home. Oakley is the sweetest boy, always wanting to be by your side and follow you wherever you go. He's an independent and intelligent dog who already knows how to "sit" and "get on your bed." Walks are his absolute favorite activity, and he's a pro at leash manners, though he sometimes needs a reminder to "slow down." Oakley tolerates other dogs but would likely be happiest as the only dog in his home. He does have a strong prey drive for cats and squirrels, so a home without those small critters would be ideal. It's incredible how sweet Oakley is, considering his difficult past. He was found as a stray in a rough neighborhood, emaciated and with a severely injured ear. Despite his hardships, he's ready to shower his new family with affection and happy tail wags.

Oakley would thrive in a home where he can be your constant companion. He would likely prefer to be the only dog in the household and a home without cats or squirrels due to his strong prey drive.

Transportation
Oakley is located in Houston, TX, and transport is available out of state. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
