Chocolate is a sweet, resilient pup ready for his forever family! His name was given to him by the caring staff at the vet clinic who met him shortly after he was rescued. Even though he was scared and sick at the time, they said his gentle, loving personality reminded them of something sweet—so the name Chocolate stuck. For him, it also represents a brand-new beginning.
His life didn’t start out easy. One very hot day he was tied to his owner’s bicycle with a shoestring. He could barely breathe and his paws could hardly touch the ground. Thankfully, a kind woman saw what was happening and rushed over to help him. She untied him and even paid his owner so she could take him away and get him the help he needed. That moment changed his life forever.
At first he was a little confused and sad, because his old owner was all he had known. But soon he learned what real kindness and love feel like. Now he lives with two wonderful foster moms who care for him like family. He also has a sweet human sister who gives him lots of kisses.
For the first time, he discovered things like soft beds, toys to play with, and even homemade chicken treats. He also has foster siblings to play with while they all wait for their forever homes.
He loves running and playing, especially with his foster sister Moom. He’s very affectionate and enjoys cuddles, kisses, and being close to his people. He’s fully potty trained and feels very comfortable in his crate—it’s his cozy safe space.
Car rides are still a little new for him, and things with wheels can sometimes make him nervous. With patience and reassurance, he continues to grow more confident every day.
He’s safe and happy now, but his foster moms tell him there’s someone special out there who is meant just for him—someone looking for a loyal companion and a loving heart like his.
If you’re hoping to share your life with a devoted, affectionate dog who will love you endlessly, Chocolate is here waiting to start his next chapter with you.
