Griffin is a 3-year-old, 17 lb Maltipoo who is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm prevention. He spent his first three years with a college-aged owner and clearly adored him. Since arriving in foster care, Griffin has been mourning his lost life, sometimes growling and howling as he misses his former home. He is a brilliant and highly intelligent dog, but things are currently done on his terms. Griffin is completely house-trained, great in the car, and loves being groomed. He has a chicken allergy and takes daily medication for seasonal allergies.
Ideal Home
Griffin needs an experienced owner with patience and a solid understanding of dogs. He requires someone who can help him process his new situation and who is familiar with the grooming needs of his breed. Griffin is not suitable for first-time pet owners. He does not engage with other dogs, viewing them with indifference rather than malice. He is also not recommended to be around children, and would need to be secured when guests arrive.

Griffin has a chicken allergy and requires a diet free of chicken. He also takes daily medication for seasonal allergies.
Training & Support
Griffin is a "project dog" for an experienced owner. He is currently tolerating his foster, treating her as "the help." His previous isolation and lack of socialization have resulted in his current behavior. His new owner must be prepared to establish clear rules and boundaries to help him thrive.
