Meet Sumrák, also known as Sumo! He's a charming approximately 5-year-old Border Collie Pit mix with a heart full of love. Sumo adores children and people, especially women. While he may have some past trauma with men, he warms up quickly and becomes a devoted companion. He can get along with other dogs, but it really depends on their body language and the overall situation. He does tend to whine when he sees another dog he can't reach. Unfortunately, Sumo does not do well with cats due to his prey drive.

Ideal Home

Sumo thrives with someone who can spend a good amount of time with him. He has a tendency to get into the trash or food if left accessible when unkenneled.

Ongoing Health

Sumo receives a monthly Cytopoint injection for his allergies, which has been very effective. Without it, he can develop a rash on his underside. He is currently on Kirkland weight loss dog food, fed 1 cup twice daily. He is up-to-date on his shots, with his parvo shot due soon.

Training & Support

Sumo struggles with separation anxiety and has a history of destroying wire kennels when left alone. However, he does well on his current dosage of 200mg of Trazadone. He kennels well and enjoys his kennel with the door open when people are around. Sumo has a jumping habit, which can be a bit challenging given his ~70lb frame. He knows several tricks, including shake paw (with both paws), sit, lay down, go to his spot, and sit pretty. He tends to pull on the leash when using a collar but is much better controlled with a harness.
